Comic-Con attendees have one more reason to get excited to head to San Diego this year. J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot has teamed with Hasbro to made a Star Trek Kre-O short film. THR reports that the 7-minute stop-motion digital short will feature characters and starships that Trekkies will love.
Hasbro seems to really be interested in taking on LEGO with these Kre-O blocks. The toy maker announced that they had bought the rights to the Star Trek from CBS Consumer Products at February’s Toy Fair. The toys won’t be able to buy until spring 2013, but fans will be able to see the figures at the Hasbro Comic-Con booth (#3213) starting on Preview Night (July 11).

Nothing really new, but it is still cool to see the stop-motion. Do you think that Kre-O can truly take on LEGO?
