Star Wars was always at its core a western. The only difference was that it took place in a galaxy far, far away. Here’s an awesome series of poster art created by Tim Anderson that gives the Star Wars trilogy a very cool, gritty spaghetti western makeover and was obviously inspired by already existing classic posters. Here’s a note from the artist:

I decided to take a brief break from the pulp series to combine another two series/genres that are near and dear to my heart: Star Wars and spaghetti westerns. These are posters re-imagining the classic Star Wars trilogy as old Italian-produced westerns of the late ’60s.
