Good Day True Believers! Did you catch the Stan Lee cameo that occurred on The GIFTED this past Monday? Well the 94 year old X-Men Co-creator and King of the Cameos did it again. Well the pilot was directed by Bryan Singer and introduces the TV audience to the Strucker Family.
The Strucker family finds out that two of the their children have mutant powers and because of strict law prohibiting mutants from using their powers in public, the family is on the run.
About three-quarters of the way through the episode, titled “eXposed,” Reed the father (played by Stephen Moyer of True Blood fame) reaches out to Marcos Diaz (aka Eclipse, played by Sean Teale), who is a member of the Atlanta safehouse of the Mutant Underground, to try to arrange passage for his family out of the country. They agree to meet at a dive bar to negotiate terms. This is where we see Stan Lee.
As Marcos enters the bar, Stan Lee walks out and pauses for a second in front of the flickering neon sign that should say “TEX’S LOUNGE, but instead reads “X’S LOUNGE.” This is a great Easter Egg for X-Men fans and only fitting where it involves Stan Lee.
So what did you think of the show in general? Is it something you will continue to watch?
