Garfield Meets Galactus!
So what happens when Garfield Meets Galactus? Well we are about to find out. Garfield and Galactus are very similar in character as they both like to eat! LOL Even though they are part of different universes, it’s time for them to get together and Marvel is doing so.
Let’s take a look at both of them and their particular traits. They both tend to think with their stomachs and they both let their appetites get them in trouble. So in reality (or in comic book reality) that are basically the same. Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield now gets the opportunity to draw both Galactus and Garfield thanks to an upcoming Marvel comic written by Ryan North, the usual writer of Squirrel Girl. Most noteworthy is that this will be Jim Davis’ Marvel Comics debut!
Issue #26 of Unbeatable Squirrel Girl will be done looking like a zine made by Squirrel Girl and her super-powered friends as she gets them into making comics they would like to make. It will incorporate different artists providing styles for various different heroes (Squirrel Girl’s friends) turned artists. The artist roster will include Jim Davis, who drew the story from the perspective of Galactus.
Ryan North wrote the story, which Davis illustrated with the help of his assistants Gary Barker and Dan Davis. The strip basically uses Galactus in place of Garfield, and his herald, the Silver Surfer, acts as a stand-in for Jon Arbuckle, Garfield’s owner. It’s a perfect combination of the two different worlds and if you like wither character, this will make you smile.
Take a sneak peek of Jim Davis’ Galactus story, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #26 hits stores November 8th. Will you be looking forward to this?
