Media Release — The Cartoon Art Museum celebrates five decades of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with Avengers Assemble!, an exhibition featuring some of the most iconic characters in comic book history, including Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man, The Wasp, Hawkeye, Black Widow and The Incredible Hulk. Artists featured in this retrospective include Jack Kirby, who co-created the series with writer Stan Lee in 1963; John Buscema, considered by many to be the definitive Avengers artist; and Neal Adams, whose photo-realistic style changed comics forever in the 1960s and 1970s. Rarities from infrequent Avengers artists will also be featured, including works by Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko; DC Comics Vice President Jim Lee; and Sal Buscema, one of Marvel’s most prolific pencilers. Contemporary Avengers artists John Romita Jr. and Frank Cho will also be spotlighted.
This exhibition is sponsored in part by the Big Wow! ComicFest, which will feature an exhibition of original Avengers artwork at the San Jose Convention Center on May 19 & 20. Highlights from this exhibition will be incorporated into Avengers Assemble! At the Cartoon Art Museum the following week.

DC Entertainment announced today that it has released a new family-friendly DC Nation app offering instant access to the best in all-ages content from DC Comics. Based on the popular Saturday morning programming block from Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment, the free app features thousands of pages of kid-safe content including free, first issues of three of the all-time greatest kids’ comics BATMAN ADVENTURES #1, SUPERMAN ADVENTURES, #1 and the multiple Eisner Award-winning TINY TITANS #1.
The app will also offer several Super Hero Origin mini-comics and the first six installments of the ever-expanding DC Nation Secret Files, an encyclopedia of the coolest characters from DC Comics. A monthly DC Nation “mini-mag” will highlight the latest happenings with the Cartoon Network TV programming block. In addition to the wide-range of free comics in the app, more than 100 all-ages DC Comics titles will be available for purchase at $.99 each, with more titles added every week.
On the heels of the app launch, DC Entertainment will also release a new DC Nation Super Spectacular magazine in May. The 64-page magazine will be on newsstands and in comic book shops for $4.99 throughout the summer, offering kids a collection of new comics based on popular DC Nation shows including Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series. The magazine will also include exclusive versions of content that extends from the DC Nation app programming, including special versions of DC Nation Secret Files and a DC Nation Sneak Peek. The magazine is sponsored by LEGO® Batman™ 2: DC Super Heroes, an upcoming game from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment,.and will include an exclusive game code for its readers.

Media Release — MetaCon 2012, the newest and hottest comic, sci-fi, and anime con to come to Minneapolis is excited to announce stars of Power Rangers: Time Force and Power Rangers: Wild Force, Jason Faunt and Jessica Rey, will be appearing at the 2012 Meta Convention. MetaCon will gather thousands of fans of TV, comics, sci-fi, anime, and popular culture at the Doubletree by Hilton in Bloomington, Minnesota for a three-day weekend celebrating fan culture. Jason and Jessica will be joined by numerous other guests soon to be announced, in addition to previously announced anime-star Todd Haberkorn and Internet hacker YTCracker. MetaCon lasts for three days, from August 31 to September 2, 2012.
Jason Faunt was born outside of Chicago, IL. After years of playing college and then a brief stint in pro baseball he hung up the cleats and decided to move out to L.A. to pursue a longtime dream of becoming an actor. Initially having some success on the commercial and print side Jason started doing bit work on soap operas which led to his role of ‘Kane’ on Port Charles and ‘Carson’ on Passions. Soon after he booked the lead as the Red Ranger on Power Rangers Time Force, playing two different characters, one from both the present and the future.
Since Power Rangers Jason has had continued success on both the commercial and print side; along with co-Producing and starring in his own film that appeared and received festival acclaim in several national festivals. The film is entitled ‘Pact’.
The past year Jason has been working in the motion capture world as the lead character in a yet to be released video game franchise. Until they announce it we are not able to say any more. Stay tuned for that announcement later this year. Jason resides in Newport Coast, CA with his wife Stephanie and two daughters Keira and Makayla. Ages 6 and 4
Jessica Rey was raised in Orange County, where she graduated from Cal State Fullerton with her BA in Business. Immediately upon graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her MBA at Loyola Marymount University. She began working as an actress, appearing in numerous national television commercial campaigns, including Kellogg’s, Jeep, Nokia, T-Mobile, and Gillette.
While finishing her MBA, she landed the role as Alyssa, the White Power Ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force. She has made guest appearances on Days of Our Lives, The Young & the Restless, The Stones, General Hospital, Las Vegas, and Rules of Engagement. Jessica currently designs her own line of vintage-inspired swimsuits: www.ReySwimwear.com and is producing her own television series.

To officiate its return to monthly publishing this May, Valiant Entertainment is proud to unveil a new interpretation of the iconic Valiant compass logo by award-winning graphic designer Rian Hughes. The newly redesigned logo — along with Valiant’s new distinctive trade dress, also designed by Hughes — will first see print on May 2nd with the release of X-O Manowar #1 by New York Times best-selling author Robert Venditti (The Surrogates) and Eisner Award-winning artist Cary Nord (Conan).
Originally founded in 1989, Valiant Comics is one of the most successful comic publishers of all time and has featured work by many of the industry’s top creative talents, including Jim Shooter, Bob Layton, Barry Windsor-Smith, Joe Quesada, David Lapham, Bryan Hitch, Steve Ditko and many more. Perfect timing,” Ethan explained. “I think anyone who loves Axe Cop will love this one. I really tried to make it a continuation from the last miniseries and not a ‘sequel’ that tries to top the last one. Malachai and I had a blast making it.”
